Heavy Duty AC to DC
Power Supplies
Premium Features:
• All RLP series power supplies are
enclosed in a ventilated, gold
irridite aluminum chassis 13" deep.
• Front panels are powder-coated aluminum
3-1/2"(H) by 19"(W)
with punch-outs for rack mounting.
• Lightweight, corrosion resistant,
excellent heat dissipation.
• Output connections are 1/4" threaded
studs with nuts. |
•
Large scale VOLT/AMP meter with selector switch, front mounted ON/OFF
switch. A charge status LED is provided when optional charger features
are included.
• AC input voltage is automatically
selected from 90 to 264 VAC/50~60Hz. Provides stable input when AC
mains power fluctuates. This is an excellent selling feature for
domestic and export sales to countries with older power grids. Models
with smart charging (SC option) must be manually set to either 110 or
220 position. SC selector switch is on side of cabinet. No disassembly
required.
• PFC (power factor correction) -This
feature applies only to AC circuits. It is the ratio of real power
(watts) delivered to apparent power VOLT AMPS (VA) or Kilo-volt amps( KVA). In AC circuits, the voltage is a SINE Wave. The current (amps)
is also a Sine Wave. For maximum power to be delivered, the two Sine
Waves must be in correct phase or "lock step." If the two are not in
phase the AC voltage will peak before or after the AC current. This
out of step condition will reduce the real power that can be delivered
to and used by the load. The ratio of real to apparent power is the
POWER FACTOR which is expressed in decimal or percentage. If the real
power is 70 watts but the V/A is 100, the PF is 0.7 or 70 percent. For
example, an incandescent lamp has a PF of .097 or better. An AC motor
is typically 0.75 to 0.8. A poor (low) PF will cause excessively high
current (amps) and heating of the load. Power factor correction
maintains a high PF allowing more efficient use of electricity
resulting in lower power costs, and longer component life.
• Remote Sensing - Regulated power
supplies like the RLP series can sample the DC output voltage at the
load and feed it back to the internal reference voltage of the power
supply. The "regulator" adjusts the output voltage up or down as
needed to compensate for line (voltage) loss between the output of the
power supply and the input of the load, keeping the load input voltage
constant. "Line loss" is a major consideration for installers and
operators whose systems contain equipment with voltage-sensitive
microprocessors where DC voltage fluctuation can scramble programmed
codes and frequencies.
• Remote Control - Remote control is the
ability to bring the RLP series power supply "on-line" from another
location, either automatically or by manual control using low level
signaling, typically 5-volts (TTLogic level.)
• Safety Approvals -The power modules
used in the RLP series are UL Recognized for USA & Canada. They also
have TUV (German) and CE (European) safety approval making them truly
International spec compliant.

|
BB - Battery back-up system (non-charging) utilizing
diode isolation. A separate charger is required.
BC - Battery back-up
system that includes both diode isolation and float charging.
Uses power from power supply for battery charging.
SC -Smart charging module that monitors batteries for
optimal charging and maintenance. Extends battery life.
Recommended for Deep Cycle or Gel cell batteries. Polarity
protected.
LVD -Low Voltage disconnect for 12~15VDC, 24~29VDC,
48~56VDC systems. Stops battery damage due to over discharging.
Protects equipment that is sensitive to low voltage during
battery operation. Disconnects battery at an adjustable voltage.
Disconnect range is 10.5~12VDC for 12 volt systems; 21~24VDC for
24 volt systems; 46~48VDC for 48 volt systems. |
