DuraComm offers two optional nickel-cadmium battery chargers engineered specifically
for use with DuraComm's BP-7 nickel-cadmium battery packs

Requirements of the pager user vary considerably depending on the usage or "duty cycle" of the pager
in service. Therefore, care should be made in determining the proper charger suitable to meet your customer's needs. Following is a list of DuraComm's line of chargers and the characteristics of each.

Often Asked Questions About Batteries

DuraComm's TP series of monitor/pagers are designed to operate with non-rechargeable standard size individual "AA" cell batteries (3) or specially designed rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery packs that is polythermal fuse protected-heavy duty model BP-7 (700 mah).  This DuraComm battery pack can be recharged without removing from the monitor/pager. When recharged, the monitor/pager should be disconnected from the charger to avoid excessive over-charge and damage to the battery.

If you choose to use non-rechargeable "AA" size batteries, alkaline cells are recommended. You may also use individual "AA" size rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries with a 600 mah minimum capacity. However, it will not be possible to charge these types of batteries by leaving them installed in the monitor/pager.

The BP-7 rechargeable battery pack has special polythermal fuse protection to prevent damage to the pager from accidental short circuits. This polythermal protection is not available in common, commercially available individual "AA" size cells.

Under no circumstances should you attempt to charge batteries not designed for recharging purposes. Serious bodily injury could occur as well as irreparable damage to the monitor/pager.
